The Call Of The Wild

The Call of the Wild, by Jack London, was published at the tern of the century. The book tells the story of a dog named Buck who was kidnapped from California and sold to Alaska where he had went through many adventures. The book was very good but sad.

At first, Buck had a good life at his home, California. He was sent to Alaska and went through many terrible things. In Alaska he was sold to a man named Perrault. He watched a dog die, and killed another dog, and he learned that he was on his own. Then, after he caused so much trouble, he and his mates were sold to a family, Hal, Charles, and his wife Mercedes. Later, Buck was saved from death by a man named John Thornton, who taught him love and loyalty. But suddenly, Buck had become so violent, he started to kill lots of animals. When his home was attacked, and he saw the body of John Thornton, killed by Yeehats, he wanted revenge and he hunted them. At the end of the book, Buck has become a ghost to theYeehats.

The reader knows how Buck felt in everything he went through. He was kidnapped and sent to another world, another place where many things happen. He learns how to kill, and hunt. The ending was a bit sad, cause John Thornton dies, killed by the Yeehats. But Buck has his wolf friends, and he and his friends will go off and hunt for the Yeehats. Later, he finds out who he really is.

The Call of the Wild is a very good, classic book. A book like this makes me want to read it a hundred times. Not just because of the story, but because Jack London is one of the world's great writers. I love this book very much and consider it one of my favorites
