Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, now it has been eight years since we moved from America to come and live in Taiwan. This place is really great. The people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the markets are amazing.

Whenever I passed by someone, sometimes they look at me and smile. When Taiwanese realize I am part American, they try to speak English to me. Small kids point at me and say "Foreigner" in Chinese. It is really cool, but sometimes can be a bit annoying.

The food is awesome. They also have all kinds of vegetables. There are small food stands around, and they are usually delicious. I love the food here.

Unlike America, Taiwan has morning and night markets. The morning markets sell fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat. There are many stands. The night markets, unlike the morning ones, have games and small tea

stands. It is very cool.

My experience: Taiwanese are friendly, the food s delicious, and the markets are amazing. Everything is wonderful. I love Taiwan!

Meet Romeo

My Mom and I went up to Taipei on Friday afternoon, however, we never got to see our new cat until we came on Monday. It was really tiny, and black. His name is Romeo.

While we were up in Taipei, my brother told me how Romeo was. I heard that every time Romeo got near Caesar, Caesar will hiss at him. But he dosn't do that anymore. He is used to him now.

Watership Down

I finished reading Watership Down a couple of weeks ago. I found the book really enjoyable. This book is adventurous, full of humor, marvelous, suspense, and a classic. It has courage, rebellion, and survival.

Watership Down is a remarkable fantasy about a group of rabbits. Because one of the rabbits sense danger coming to their warren, they have to move from one place to another, in order to find themselves a home, a new warren. They settle down at Watership Down. However, before they really settle down, they need to find themselves a couple of does. So they have to save the does from a house and another dangerous warren, called Efrafa, filled with strict rabbits who control others. Sending a small group of rabbits to the other warren, they found themselves causing more damage then they wanted to.

All the characters in Watership Down are great to get along with. If it were not for Fiver, the rabbit who senses danger, then all the rabbits would never have gone away from their old warren and in search for a new one. Hazel, Fiver's brother, leads the group, and later becomes the Chief Rabbit. Bigwig, also known as Thlayli, is the brave one, and once an Owsla officer. Blackberry, the smart one, and his clever tricks were very useful along the way. Along the road, another rabbit named Dandelion also told many stories about another rabbit named El-ahrairah and his friend, Rabscuttle, and their cunning adventures. All the rabbits think that Dandelion tells great stories and I agree. When they reached their new warren they met a black-headed gull named Kehaar, who had been a great help to them. Holly, who was the former captain of the Owsla in the old warren, caught up with them later on. Also General Woundwort, who founded the Efrafa warren, is vicious and psychotic. There are also many other characters in the book.

There are many reasons why I like this wonderful book. Because it is fantasy, adventurous, humorous, has courage, and leaderships, and also, I like rabbits. The characters are easy to connect to. The group of rabbits are brave whenever they get into trouble. They traveled a long way just to find a new environment for them. There are also some small battles in the book, which I enjoyed very much.

My favorite character in Watership Down is Bigwig. Because he is the largest and most powerful rabbit, and loyal to Hazel. Sometimes he can be very impatient and blunt when it comes to fighting. He makes friends with Kehaar quickly, so they are quite attached to each other. He was an officer, so he knows what to do in a battle. At the end of the book, the last battle, he fights General Woundwort. However, he was injured badly. When I thought he was going to die, I nearly burst into tears. Fortunately, he lived. I also like Hazel and Kehaar, because Hazel kept the group together and had some decent plans, and Kehaar helped out the group.

Watership Down is a fascinating book. Very entertaining. It was very hard for me to keep my eyes off the book, and I felt pretty torn when I had to leave it to do something. All the characters are great. This book is epic. It is a masterpiece. Everyone of all ages can read it, and they will seriously enjoy this book. It is one of the best books I have ever read.
