Happy Halloween!

I have not went trick or treating in seven years. Do you know why? Because there are no trick or treatings here in Taiwan. In all the years I have live here, I have never seen anyone knocking on my door shouting, "Trick or treat!" and dressing in a costume. Even though there is no trick or treating, they still sell costumes at stores everywhere.

Now October is over, and November is coming--tomorrow. My birthday is in November, and so are my cousins', my aunt's, and my mom's.

Sitting on A Bike Behind My Friend's Back

Yes, that's right. Yesterday, I met my friends at a 7 eleven. Seven kids came, two of which were not my classmates. We went to the park and played. Well, didn't exactly play. We were deciding what to play. There was a basketball court there. However, we didn't have a ball, so, no good.

Then, we decided to bike down to the stationary store. Only problem was, my friends's sister and I didn't have a bike. Luckily, two of my friends' bikes had a seat -- well, not exactly a seat -- at the back, for people to on.

So, I sat behind my friend while she biked. It was positively one of the worst experiences I ever had--my feet had no place to rest on, so I practically had to lift it up in the air; my hands were sore from grabbing too tight on the bars; and my bottom hurt. The bike kept shaking like a snake that moves on the ground. Also, we were riding on the streets, cars kept driving by, and my friend kept paddling outside the white line. So, I told her, "我的生命在你手上," which means, "My life is in your hands." She told me to trust her, which I did.

When we got to the stationary store, my whole body was shaking and my hands were black. I didn't buy anything; my friends did. After that, we went to have drinks at a place called Balance (杯樂). Two of my friends and I didn't have anything. Too sugary and too fattening. Not good for you. Plus, I'm on a diet.

My friend biked me back to the park. I have to say, she was really good. I mean, really good. I was taller and heavier then her, and she can carry me -- you know what I mean -- like that. She was amazing. My friends were kind enough to stop and wait for us sometimes, since we were lagging behind.

Well, I had fun. I got to admit, it was fun sitting behind that bike, even though, there was some places that hurt.

The New Hutch

Yesterday, my mom made a hutch for our cats, Napoleon and Caesar. My mom always wanted to make a sleeping place for the cats to sleep in. One day, she went to read someone else's blog, and that person taught others how to make a hutch! So then, my mom made one yesterday and finished it within an hour. Here are some photos..

My New Glasses

I am going to get new glasses! Yay! I am so excited! Yesterday, I went to a place -- I translated the Chinese into English -- called Formosa Optical (寶島眼鏡), though I really think that is hardly what it's called in English. Anyway, right now, I have a pair of pink glasses, now I'm getting a black pair.

So, like I said, my glasses are black. And according to Wikipedia, my new glasses are half rim design. It's squared-shaped, and oh yes, on the side is silvery and black, and on the silvery part, it says "Harvard" on the side.

I'm 350 degrees -- if that's how you say it, and I'm nearsighted, which means I can't see far away distance. Last year, I was 250 degrees. However, since I love to read, draw, watch movies, etc, my eyesight has increased.

So, anyway, yesterday afternoon, I went to the Formosa Optical (寶島眼鏡) -- I really don't think that is the correct translation -- to get new glasses. At first, I was only getting new glass for my glasses, but then, ended up getting new glasses.

So, they told me to sit on a chair, they sort of put this gigantic version of the glasses in front of my eyes. They asked me to point which direction the "E" was. Then they asked me which lines -- 1 to 12, like a clock -- are darker. It was really hard for me to decide that, because most of them were pretty dark. So, I just picked what I thought was the darkest. So soon, after a while -- to me, anyway -- I got off the chair, wearing a pair of heavy glasses. I returned it after a short while.

I was fourth grade when I got my first pair of glasses. It was round and black. I soon founded out that round glasses don't suit me. So, I went for the pink squared-shape pair, which was in fifth grade. Now, it's a black half rim pair.

So, here are my new pair of glasses. (My mom said that I looked like I was selling these on Yahoo. Haha. )
