Thanks to my brother for some of the pictures!
Jan. 24, Tuesday:
My brother. Yay!
My beautiful cousin.
We were playing cards.
My brother played Lego Racers.
Our New Year meal!
My Ah-ma, holding red envelopes.
Hmm... delicious!
Shrimp hot pot.
Dong-po pork with broccoli.
Yup, that's my dad and my brother.
My mom holding the pasta that I made by her instructions.
It was my Ah-ma's birthday, too. So my aunt made chocolate cake, which was incredibly delicious.
My aunt had cut it.
We enjoyed the tasty cake.
Jan. 26, Thursday:
We went out to buy shoes for both me and my Ah-gong (grandfather).
My Ah-ma's homemade food. Wood-ear fungus.
Vegetarian kidney.
Cauliflower with mushrooms.
Red-cooked tofu with mushrooms.
Jan. 27, Friday:
We went out to the vegetarian restaurant that we always go to whenever we're in Taipei.
Gong-bou stinky tofu.
Vegetarian lamb with pea sprouts.
Stinky tofu pot.
Dogs in the pet shop.
A large fruit stand.
Jan. 28, Saturday:
We went to see my Ah-ma's relatives, who they haven't seen in years!
The metro station was empty - on a Saturday.
Everybody was studying the map.
Everybody was studying the map again.
My Uncle's - my mom's older cousin - place!
All of us went out to lunch together.
This is the "older generation". My cousin and I had to sit with "our generation", my distant cousins. They're more than ten years my senior.
Appetizer.
My distant cousin with, technically, my niece (another of my distant cousin's daughter.).
This is a vegetarian restaurant.
What an interesting dish. Taro dessert.
Deep fried burdock slices.
Vegetarian soup with Chinese medicine.
Mochiko cake with brown sugar.
Dates.
Yogurt drink.
My Ah-gong's calligraphy was hanging in the restaurant!
One of my great Uncle's calligraphy - a word written with many words. The word means "Buddha".
Happy Chinese New Year! Lego Racers, cool! I heard there was a tradition behind red envelopes. What is it about?
ReplyDeleteAnd your dad and brother seem to be fun people to be with! :D Happy birthday to your grandma!
I don't understand one thing: you say "vegetarian lamb with pea sprouts" but isn't lamb in itself non-vegetarian?
Does your grandpa do English calligraphy? My brother does :P though he's a beginner.
And would you have some time to take my quiz? http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-quiz.php?id=1202051015264578&a=1&
Peace ^^
Nivedha.
Cool! Which one?
ReplyDeleteI'm allowed to watch PG-13 with PG :P So maybe yeah, I can rent it.
You're Dad is American!? Cool! Fake lamb xD
I'm older :)
Happy weekend thought it's just Thursday :P
Peace ^^

Right NOW it's Sunday, 12th Feb, 12:32 PM.
ReplyDeleteMy brother knows some basic words in Japanese (including PIG - 豚 [buta], and IDIOT - ばか [baka]). I've been learning a little with him.
Until what I've read, I think the part where Stephano - Olaf - comes back is the most surprising. And Uncle Monty dying.
Cool! I've been playing Vilgax Attacks for two years now and I still struggle at some parts where by brother has to help me. He's better at gaming but I love to do it too. I mean, I don't like playing games with a keyboard - I need a proper console and all that :)
And about the red envelopes... could you explain? :)
Give peace a chance! xD

You can check out how the story goes on here: http://ben10.wikia.com/wiki/The_Gauntlet
ReplyDeleteIt's about a boy who turns into a robot and then fights and alien-human guy. The story in my post is just a little joke from Soup Nazi's NO SOUP FOR YOU! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2lfZg-apSA
I've finished the second book! IT WAS SO AWESOME!
And no, I haven't seen those posters. They're actually about Capitol people - you'll probably understand if you read the book/watch the movie.
Peace ^^

I'm not talking about Mahatma Gandhi - it's Rajiv Gandhi. PM means Prime Minister. I'll have to upload the pictures soon...
ReplyDeleteI've watched a few episodes of Seinfeld, most of them which include the Soup Nazi's catchphrase. I hope you enjoy The Hunger Games!
Thank you :) I made that poster quite by accident, which means doodling skeletons on poster board and then getting this idea of "why not a poster"...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I uploaded the pictures but I guess there will be more too because my friends are yet to send me some pictures of the Rajiv Gandhi memorial.
What kind of games does your brother play? Except Lego Racers, I mean. And you?
Peace ^^
