This article is for those who wish to take the GED in Taiwan.
Is it possible to take the GED in Taiwan? Yes, it is! Do the colleges in Taiwan recognize it? Yes, they do!
My brother and I were/are home-schoolers in Taiwan. Originally, my brother attended an American school, and I graduated from a local Taiwanese elementary school. However, my parents pulled my brother out of his school after several years because they did not agree with the system there, and I never attended junior high and high school because my parents dislike the Taiwanese education (Frankly, so do I). Nevertheless, because we have to attend college, we needed a diploma. Therefore, after hours of searching online, my parents discovered GED, General Education Diploma.
Apparently, it is possible to take in Taiwan. When I heard the news, I was ecstatic! There are classes in Taipei (To see the site, click here). However, because we don't live there, my dad purchased the GED books online for me and my brother, which have been an enormous help. My brother, being older than me, took the GED test first. After the success of getting my brother into college using a GED diploma, we were so relieved and felt it would be easier when it was my turn. Therefore, if you are home-schooled or a graduate from a American school, then you can take the GED to enter college here.
When we were registering for my turn (to register, click here), we discovered that the company who organized the GED switched companies to Pearson, and they had the testing centers located both in Taipei and in Kaohsiung this time, whereas it was originally only in Taipei. To see the addresses, click here.
I took all five subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing, and Reading) in one day. To take the GED, I brought my American passport. Food and drinks were allowed, but not while taking the test.
Good luck! If any questions, leave a comment, no matter the time.
Wow, Sheridan! I think it's really awesome that you're trying to help out people with this post. One little thing did confuse me, though: "Therefore, if you are a home-schooler..." Do you mean "Therefore, if you are home-schooled" instead?
ReplyDeleteAnd that's true about the whole appearances thing. While it is healthy to NOT be overweight, it isn't healthy to be stick-thin either. And it's more or less likely that the skin product is going to damage your skin by overcleansing it.
You asked how to post a GIF. It's actually pretty simple: right-click on your preferred GIF and click on "Save Image As" and save it to your desktop. Then, click on the Add Image thing in the create-a-post thing in Blogger, and upload it.
Else, you could right-click on the GIF and click on "Copy Image Address", then go to Add Image and click on the Add Image by URL option. Then, paste it. :) It's pretty much just like posting an image.
(P.S. I've changed my name on my blog to Meg due to the influx of Figment readers. I just realised that you might mark this as spam! :O)
